A Chief Stew with 6+ years experience in the superyacht industry. I help aspiring crew confidently land their first job and teach the skills needed to be a stand out YACHT STEW.
Are you wondering what courses you need to work as a yacht stew? What will you learn from a stewardess course? Will doing a yacht stew course guarantee you a junior stew role? If these questions have been on your mind and you’ve been debating whether or not to do Interior Superyacht training, read on.
A lot of companies do not explicitly tell you that having a yacht stewardess training course on your CV is NOT going to guarantee you a job (Unfortunately!) — nothing will when doing training courses to work in the yachting industry.
However, there are solid reasons why completing a yacht stewardess course prior to gaining your first job in the industry has far more benefits to you than just ticking a box for the CV.
There are many companies around the world that offer stewardess training courses and these can range anywhere from $400 – $4500 USD. Some run for weeks and are ‘all inclusive’ of food and accommodation, some are internationally recognised with the IAMI GUEST Program and some are individually run companies.
Although The Seaworthy Yacht Stewardess Training Course is not recognised by the IAMI program yet due to it’s online nature. It instead offers junior crew the ability to learn how to be a yacht stewardess online (The first program in the world to offer this) for a very competitive price.
With the added flexibility to take modules online from your home country, with 10 tailored interior modules taught by a chief stew with 6+ years of experience. It will give you the skills + the professional know-how so you stand out on the CV pile.
Yes, you can still add the course to your CV to show you have completed a stewardess training course as you will be given a certificate once the Yacht Stewardess Online Training has been completed.
It is recommended to do your research on the trainers of the course you are thinking about joining as I have known of companies with teachers of interior courses who have never actually worked onboard.
Also, choose a course which best suits your needs…
>> Do you need/want that support after you’ve finished the course to ask all the questions to have the guidance when you need it. Whether that’s via email, phone or Instagram DM’s to have support when you are just starting a new junior stew career is really helpful.
Many of the girls who have gone through The Seaworthy Yacht Stewardess Training Course have kept in touch with me when in their new jobs asking questions, running through different situations, and what to do if x y and z happens. It’s so lovely to see their progression and to be able to support junior stews as it can be daunting entering this unique world of yachting.Â
